At the beginning of the travel season, patient information on traveler’s diarrhea and on acquisition of multidrug resistant organisms (MDRO) are published by members of the RAI Project and the Robert Koch Institute. The customizable information sheets are designed to enable general practitioners and physicians specialized in travel medicine to provide their patients easily understandable recommendations. The so called “Infozepte” – a combination of the terms “Information” and “Rezepte” (= prescriptions) – are available online after registration as a physician (www.rai-projekt.de) in German, English, Turkish and Arabic.

The travelers’ information complement the patient information content regarding common cold and respiratory infection issues previously developed for the RAI project by members of the Charité and the university hospital Jena.

The Infozeptgenerator aims to enable physicians to communicate evidence-based information on development, therapy, general measures and prevention regarding the miscellaneous syndromes. The sustained patient communication is supposed to foster the prudent use of antibiotics.

The network project RAI (Responsible Use of Antibiotics via Information and Communication) aims to develop tailored information and communication tools on the subject of antibiotic (AB) resistance for various stakeholder groups. RAI coordinates physicians, veterinarians as well as a design team and communication experts in a cross-sectional project dealing with issues of antibiotic use and antimicrobial resistance.
