Berlin Global Health PhD program

The structured PhD program Global Health is a collaboration between seven partnering institutions that conduct research in the field of global health, including the RKI. It aims to train excellent scientists for leadership positions in global health. The English-language doctoral program offers excellent scientific training, provides a cross-border, interdisciplinary perspective on global health and offers a wide range of networking opportunities in Berlin's global health community. The next cohort of the program will start in September 2025. The application deadline is 1 March 2025.

On the occasion of this year's World Cancer Day, the Epidemiologisches Bulletin 6/2025 has published an article about cancer in men that is caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV): The connection between HPV infection and oropharyngeal or anogenital cancers area has been clearly proven.

Health in Germany and Europe is the main topic of the fourth issue of the Journal of Health Monitoring 2024. An important source of data on health in Europe is the European Health Interview Survey (EHIS), a population survey that is mandatory for all EU Member States. The EHIS collects data on health status, health care, health determinants and the socio-economic situation of the population in the EU Member States.
