Assignment of Rights
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) publishes contributions by external and internal authors in the Journal of Health Monitoring under the Creative Commons license CC BY 4.0. According to the CC BY 4.0 license, anyone is allowed to copy, redistribute, and adapt the work as long as attribution is made according to the license (see "Related Links").
Publication will be online in the Journal of Health Monitoring on the RKI website.
1. By submitting the manuscript, the corresponding author, on behalf of all contributing authors, grants RKI the non-exclusive right to publish the manuscript under the terms of the Creative Commons License CC BY 4.0 and agrees to the following publication policy. The contributing authors retain their copyrights and the unrestricted rights to publish or use the manuscript.
2. The corresponding author warrants that:
- she/he is fully entitled to dispose of the rights of use regarding the manuscript, that these rights have been granted to her/him to an unrestricted extent in advance if applicable and that hitherto she/he has made no legal concessions that oppose to the provisions of this assignment and that she/he will refrain from doing so in future.
- any author has contributed significantly to the work and takes responsibility for the whole content.
- she/he has been authorized by all coauthors to sign this form on behalf of them.
- the manuscript is the original work of the author(s) and does not infringe any existing copyright or the rights of any third party.
- all facts and information that are described in the manuscript are true and accurate and the manuscript contains nothing that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory or libelous.
3. To the extent permitted by the Creative Commons license used by RKI to publish the contribution, the corresponding author commits herself/himself to indemnify, defend and hold RKI harmless from and against all third party claims arising from infringement of third party rights based on form, content or design of the submitted manuscript.
4. RKI is not liable to the authors for any damages of any kind that may arise from the publication by RKI. Excluded are cases of gross negligent and intentional infringement by RKI.
5. Publication of the manuscript is subject to review and acceptance of the manuscript by RKI.
6. This agreement is subject to the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Exclusive place of jurisdiction shall be Berlin.
