COVID-19 in Germany

SARS-CoV-2 continues to circulate in the population and can spread wherever people congregate. Although case numbers are seasonally lower in the summer months than in the cold season, the RKI still recommends following the AHA+A+L rules (keeping your distance, following hygiene rules, using a mask on a daily basis, using the Corona Warn App, ventilating indoor spaces), staying home and getting tested if you have respiratory symptoms, and making sure you have full vaccination protection against COVID-19.

The further course of the pandemic – in addition to the emergence of new virus variants – will depend largely on the vaccination status and behavior of the population. The Robert Koch Institute is continuously monitoring the situation, making recommendations and assessing the risk for the population in Germany.
