COVID-19 in Germany

The Robert Koch Institute is continuously monitoring the situation, evaluating all available information, estimating the risk for the population in Germany, providing health professionals with recommendations and gives an overview of its own COVID-19 research.

In late December 2020, vaccinations against COVID-19 have started in Germany. In order to prevent infections, however, it is still necessary for the entire population to be committed to infection prevention and control, e.g. by consistently observing rules of distance and hygiene - also outdoors -, by ventilating indoor spaces and, where indicated, by wearing a community mask correctly and use the Corona Warn App.
