Upon request of the supreme health authorities of the Laender, the unit provides support to the competent authorities with outbreak investigations, including management of response. The unit also hosts the scientific secretariat of the Commission for Anti-Infectives, Resistance and Therapy (ART) and the Centre for the Prevention and Control of Antibiotic Resistance.
