In order to be able to include immigrants in the health surveys in line with the proportion of the population they represent, corresponding methods and standards are developed at the Robert Koch Institute.

All areas of the development and conducting of surveys are considered, ranging from the type of sampling to encouragement to participate, the translation of questionnaires, the formulation of specific questions and the evaluation of the obtained data.
