Older people at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic: A scoping review

Special Issue S4/2021 gives an overview of international and German publications on the direct and indirect effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health of older people during the first six months of 2020. The main aim of this evaluation was to identify gaps in the evidence concerning the initial phases of the COVID-19 pandemic and, thus, areas requiring further research.

The scoping review is based on a systematic search strategy of the international literature covering a period between December 2019 and June 2020, supplemented by a search of the websites of selected organisations in Germany.
