Centre for Cancer Registry Data

The German Centre for Cancer Registry Data (ZfKD) is located within the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin. It is responsible for pooling and assessing the quality of data it receives from the population-based cancer registries in each German federal state. Each registry has its own history with a unique initiation date. Thus, the range and quality of the pooled data is heterogeneous.

After pooling and quality-checking, the ZfKD analyses and evaluates the data and publishes its findings on a regular basis. An important publication is »Cancer in Germany«, which is released every two years. You can find current cancer statistics in our online database, where it is available through an interactive query form.  The pooled data set of the German Epidemiological Cancer Registries is available to scientists upon request.
